Well, most of the times I hear these things, they come either from the elderly or people who are making fun of it. I don't know, I think it was such a major change when Elvis began shaking like crazy, that this though of rock being the "devil's music" carried on.
Although there's stupid people everywhere - I've heard of a few cases of people who committed crimes / suicide etc... being under the influence of lyrics from rock songs (one of them was with Ozzy, I think). And those standalone cases gave it a bad name.
Honestly, people are narrow-minded. Yeah, there are some satanist bands, and they all play heavier music. Some songs talk about "bad" stuff, some musicians died because of drugs... Does it mean that if I start a rock band I'm a satanist? Do I want to die or use drugs (or both :P)? No, not at all.
I guess it's a cultural thing. If, in the past, people have said it was the devil's music, then it's GOTTA BE THE DEVIL'S MUSIC! BRING THEM CROSSES!! :P
Oh, and where's that picture from? :)

Happy Halloween from Brazil! (at least it's midnight in here :P)

Yeah, there are jackasses that still think this way. They're just ignorant and nothing more. If they were tolerant enough, they'd know only a minority of metal bands sing about satan and shit. Band I listen to such as Blind Guardian and Rhapsody aren't even pro-Satanism. If anything, they have songs singing about defeating the devil. Just shows how little these morons know about rock music.
As a matter of fact, I don't stereotype rap and hiphop. Sure, it's not my cup of tea overall but I know rap and hiphop only talk about bitches and hoes. I know there's more to those genres than that. Maybe it doesn't help the rap's reputation with certain key artists but if people looked outside the box, they'll know rap and hiphop don't sing about bitches and hoes.
I'm just glad I don't know anyone personally who enforces this stereotypical bullshit. I know a few Christians but they're not the douchey type or anything like the Westboro Baptist Church and thank God for that (no pun intended). A fair number of my friends may not be into heavy metal but they're still great individuals at the end of the day.

Don't forget most of them don't even recognize the differences between rock and metal. Yeah, it's pretty sad how some people blame at certain bands and songs without a good reason.
A great example of that, is the amount of trolls and users in the comments of any musical video of any genre in YouTube.
